This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to start a career in professional administration work.

Administrators are the backbone to any organisation. They help make things run smoothly and know how to maintain information so it can be called on to answer any department queries.

You will provide general administrative support alongside the Apprenticeships and Commercial Training administration team. This will include:

  • Be the first point of contact for day-to-day enquiries over the telephone and team mailboxes internally and externally. Directing them to relevant team members as required.
  • Checking enrolment forms and learner documentation have been fully completed and entering data into the college systems in accordance with college procedures and GDPR / Data Protection.
  • Provide clear communication to stakeholders.
  • Utilise college computer systems effectively and efficiently.
  • Support the team in ensuring compliance of employer funding paperwork.
  • Assist with marketing, social media and events within the immediate and wider team.
  • Undertaking general office duties (photocopying, filing, archiving).
  • Provide support to the wider team.
  • Maintaining and replenishing stock of paperwork and order printing from internal reprographics team.
  • Responsible for the ordering and maintaining of stationary.
  • Ensure daily distribution of internal and external mail
  • Take meeting minutes as required.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Undertake any reasonable duties as directed by line manager.

  • Educated to GCSE grade A* - C / 9 - 4 in English or Level 2 equivalent
  • Educated to GCSE grade A* - C / 9 - 4 in Maths or Level 2 equivalent
  • A willingness to complete relevant apprenticeship training / standard
  • Safeguarding Awareness and Prevent Training (or to be completed within one month of appointment)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to all tasks undertaken
  • The ability to input data accurately
  • Able to follow procedures and guidance as necessary
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office packages
  • Ability to participate in the development of procedures and systems
  • Ability to identify and suggest improvements to procedures and systems
  • The ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with all students
  • Customer-focussed approach and a commitment to providing a quality service
