Apprentice Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Visiting a wide range of client premises (both residential and business) for installations and servicing of Analogue CCTV, IP CCTV, Intruder Alarms, Access Control Systems, IP Networks, Data Cables and Wi-Fi Networks
• You may be required to carry out site surveys and job planning (dependent upon experience)
• Responsible as part of a team to keep van levels stocked
• You will be required to follow exact instructions as well as being able to using your own initiative to problem solve
• Provide support to clients after the installations are completed
• Rectify clients issues as required
• This position is an all-round position and other duties different to those outlined may be determined by management from time to time

• GCSE or equivalent Maths & English Grades A*-C/4-9
• Level 3 in IT

• Experience with IP Phone networks, in particular Avaya systems, FreePBX, NEC, BT systems
• PAT Testing experience
• IPAF Pal Card 
• CIS Card 
• Proven knowledge of using tools including power and hand tools
• Previous experience of installing cables and terminating ends in particular Cat 5e, Cat 6, Fibre and Patch Panels
• Ability to fault find
• Ability to operate in high pressure situations and handle working on multiple projects

• Excellent customer service skills, including telephone manners
• Ability to follow specific instructions
• Able to project a respectable and professional image
• Be able to work as part of a team but also independently
• Willing to undertake further training and development
