Main responsibilities;

  • Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
  • Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
  • Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request
  • Appropriately signpost patients to the correct service
  • File and store records as required
  • Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
  • Input data into the patient’s healthcare records as necessary
  • Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patient’s healthcare record Manage all queries (including administrative queries) as necessary in an efficient manner

Reception duties:

  • Booking in patients consulting with members of Practice team
  • Directing patients to appropriate locations
  • Supervise waiting area and monitor activities
  • Be able to cover all reception positions as necessary
  • Initiate new patient registration forms
  • Have knowledge of practice boundaries for registration
  • Accept specimens and ensure they are correctly labelled
  • Receipting monies for private medical fees and securing in safe box

Repeat Prescriptions

  • Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patients and checking names and address
  • Ensure prescriptions are directed to appropriate pharmacies as requested by the patient

Appointments

  • Process a variety of appointment requests for today and future appointments from patients by telephone and in person
  • Deal with home visit requests

Requirements

GCSE in maths and English (A-C) or (9-4) or equivalent
