Our Mechanical Aerospace Engineering Degree Apprentice (Rotorcraft) Programme caters for those who are interested in the practical and theoretical aspects of supporting a fleet of helicopters, helping to maintain airworthy and available aircraft, along with performance analysis of our products.  Over the 5 and a half year programme you will be trained to become a Rotorcraft Engineer, as well as an integral part of the organisation. You will take in placements in areas such as; Rotor Dynamics, Aircraft Loads, Structural Test Lab and Transmissions Design amongst others.

Leonardo’s five and a half year Mechanical Aerospace Engineering Degree Apprentice (Rotorcraft) provides a wealth of learning and development opportunities.  By the end of the scheme trainees will have completed a Level 6 Degree (BEng) in Aeronautical Engineering.

Requirements

96 (240 pre 2017) UCAS points or above at A-Level standard or equivalent, to include mathematics plus at least one further STEM based subject such as Physics, ICT, Computing, Electronics.

A GCSE grade B/5 in mathematics, plus five GCSEs at grade 4/C or above including English Language and Double Science or equivalent qualifications.

Grade requirements for mathematics, English and Science have to be met, however Science at a Level 3 (or grade D) can potentially be considered if the applicant has completed another relevant qualification i.e. BTEC Level 3 Engineering.
