Our apprenticeship scheme is tailored to support, develop, and grow our apprentices to progress in their chosen careers. As part of the scheme apprentices will be provided with a mentor, spend time on placement and become part of our apprentice network. 

This job is a 24-month business administration apprenticeship under which the apprentice will engage in, on and off the job learning and development activities that will lead to a Level 3 in Business Administration qualification. Business administrators have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors. The role will sit primarily within the Partnership Administration team and will involve working independently as well as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administrative services for our UK and International partners and students. The role involves demonstrating strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and adopting a proactive approach to developing skills.

The Partnership Administration Team, led by the Head of Partnership Administration is supported by Director of Registry Services. The Partnership Administrator (apprentice) is expected to work collaboratively, with our UK and International Partners and across the Registry areas, to develop a joined-up approach to the delivery of academic administration and to support the delivery of registry activity and business needs at key periods during the academic year. 

This apprenticeship is a developmental role. You will be working towards the following duties and should be competent in carrying them out by the end of the apprenticeship. You will be fully supported, in line with the University’s approach to apprenticeships:

Requirements

GCSE A-C/8-4 or equivalent in English and mathematics. 

  • Existing experience must be substantially different to the Business Administration Level 3 apprenticeship such that on completion you will have developed a new set of skills
  • Demonstrate a desire to work in the higher education sector
  • Demonstrate skills in Microsoft office programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams) 
  • Demonstrate the ability to use database systems 
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative, accurately and under pressure to meet tight deadlines and changing priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
  • Proven interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to produce letters and documentation to a high standard of accuracy
  • Organisational skills
  • Attention to accuracy and detail
  • A commitment to completing the apprenticeship programme and engaging in all on and off the job training and development activities
  • An ambassador for professionalism and customer service
  • A team worker with a friendly and positive attitude
