We currently have a vacancy for a bricklayer apprentice to join and support our building team. You will learn all aspects of the building trade and the current regulations.

The Level 2 apprenticeship standard for the Bricklaying Apprenticeship is designed for apprentices in construction roles. Bricklaying Apprenticeships are designed to set the learner up with the skills to carry out their role effectively and safely. The apprentice will learn the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in bricklayer jobs.
This qualification has been developed to support learners completing the Bricklaying Apprenticeship Standard and covers the knowledge, skills and behaviours of the standard.
The qualification covers a range of topics:
- Measuring work areas and setting out the first rows of bricks or blocks
- Mixing mortar by hand or with a mechanical mixer
- Applying mortar with a trowel and laying bricks on top of each other
- Shaping and trimming bricks using hammers, chisels and power tools
- Checking that rows are straight using a spirit level and plumb line
- Health and safety
- Customer service
- Energy efficiency
- Alternative construction techniques
- Radial and battered brickwork
- Feature and reinforced brickwork
- Fireplaces and chimneys

GCSE grade C/4+ in English and Maths or equivalent.
A strong hard worker who is able to mix a basic ‘pug’ and barrow to its location. Everything else will come and be taught with time.
