Learn the project management principles to Drive project / program execution, to maximize the results with respect to cash and margin whilst understanding delivery of projects on time, in conformity with the contract / Program Charter according to Customer expectations and the requirements on EHS.

Understand the value to seek additional opportunities in the frame of the contract / Program Charter with awareness to ensure Alstom Transport legal and contractual rights are protected.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a world leading Engineering Company, you will work alongside Project Management colleagues in York.

Over a 4-year program, you will combine academic University studies with real life work-based experience across our organisation. You will have the opportunity to build and gather evidence of your competence whilst working towards a formal qualification.

Purpose of the Job:

  • To be part of and support the project management community within Alstom who are responsible for the end-to-end delivery of a project or a subset of a project dependant on the complexity and criticality to the business
  • The project management community take responsibility for delivering the project in line with defined objectives, taking decisions to manage stakeholder expectations by leading a multi-skilled, cross-disciplinary team to deliver the project to time, cost and quality requirements

Key Duties:

  • Developing and documenting components of projects as required by the Project Team
  • Cost estimating, analysis and control activities
  • Scheduling development, maintenance and monitoring
  • Risk, assumptions, issues, dependencies and opportunities management
  • Earned value management analysis and control activities
  • Development of workforce planning and staffing plans
  • Providing data to support business cases, strateg

Requirements

  • 3 A Levels ideally in IT, Computer Science, or Engineering. OR BTEC Extended Diploma in Business/IT/Science/Engineering
  • 5 GCSE grade 9-5 / A*-C including English and maths
