Why We Need You

 Main responsibilities:

  • To work within the team and in partnership with others to ensure that, this service is of a high standard
  • To undertake tasks with the users of the service which ensure their physical and emotional wellbeing
  • To maintain high standards in relation to Safeguarding and establish positive and trusting relationships with service users, respecting at all times professional boundaries and their dignity and rights
  • To support service users to achieve their individual goals and aspirations
  • To take personal responsibility for demonstrating the aims of the Empanda Equality and Diversity objectives
  • To take personal responsibility for own Health, Safety and Welfare and that of colleagues in the workplace and service users

Key tasks:

  • To create, maintain, monitor and develop high standards of practice through team working
  • To attend and take an active part in team meetings, ensuring they are used for open and honest discussion that enhances good practice
  • To act in a way that supports an open and honest team process and thus ensures that the team works efficiently and effectively
  • To receive support and supervision from line management, identify training needs and develop plans to meet those needs
  • To undertake training to help you maintain a level of proficiency in First Aid
  • To maintain a knowledge and understanding of procedures in case of emergency
  • To undertake domestic tasks, usually in association with service users, to ensure proper standards of health, hygiene and catering
  • To support service users in undertaking menu planning, shopping and food preparation
  • To identify any actual or potential risks under the Health and Safety at Work Act and bring them to the attention of the Services Manager
  • To help in the monitoring of the health and welfare o


Empanda Care & Support is a Community Interest Company that offers community-based housing related support, residential respite care and domiciliary care services across Norfolk and day care services across Norfolk and Suffolk.

The name Empanda is derived from a Roman Goddess by the same name who had a sanctuary near the gate that led to a temple. The sanctuary was always open to anybody needing protection and people in need were given food from the temple’s resources.

Empanda is considered to have introduced the concepts of asylum and charity into Roman life and Empanda CIC shares the values of holistic support that is open to all.


  • GCSE (or equivalent) grades A*-C or 9-4 English and maths

** If you don't have these, you must show you can work at the required level (via initial assessments and diagnostics) and be prepared and willing to complete the Functional Skills qualifications in your own time alongside the apprenticeship. Training for this will be provided by Adult Learning. We offer a flexible delivery style suit every learners’ individual needs and requirements.

If you don't already have, you will work towards:

  • Manual Handling, SOVA, Infection Control, Dementia, Care of Medicines, First Aid, Basic Food Hygiene, Health and Safety, Fire Safety, Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberties

Fully up-to-date with COVID-19 and Flu vaccines (evidence of C-19 vaccinations will be required).

Full, clean driving licence (Business Class 1 Insurance) due to nature of the role.
