Main accountabilities/responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for sorting and arranging material for storage as per guidelines 
  • Check all pick list requirements 
  • Check and examine products prior to dispatch to ensure they are in safe and suitable condition 
  • Locate products in warehouse and ensure products are labelled and identified 
  • Move stock and confirm storage location/picking face 
  • Pick products from storage locations and update stock location files as necessary 
  • Inspect correct items have been picked using product codes and descriptions on pick lists 
  • Check correct quantities have been picked using physical means or weigh counting equipment 
  • Follow relevant procedures for packing and dispatching UK, European and export orders (including Furseweld products) 
  • Operate mechanical handling equipment/tools/machinery as trained and authorised 
  • Maintenance of 5s program 
  • All tasks undertaken are carried out with due diligence and that high levels of accuracy, efficiency and customer service is maintained 
  • Assist with stocktaking as required 
  • Maintain a clean and tidy warehouse and ensure a high degree of housekeeping is maintained 
  • Be aware of and observe all security and Health & Safety at Work regulations and requirements, and wear protective clothing, footwear and equipment as provided.  Report all near misses and unsafe acts to your Team Leader 
  • Be prepared to work overtime or alter normal working hours to suit the needs of the business 
  • Other duties may have to be undertaken which will be determined by the company, taking in to account the current level of responsibilities, experience and capabilities

GCSEs at grades C/4 or above (or equivalent) in maths and English.

  • Good communication skills 
  • Good keyboard skills 
  • Numerate and high degree of accuracy  
  • Must have reasonable level of fitness 
  • Be able to work as part of a team 
  • Be willing to complete apprenticeship training and other training deemed relevant e.g.. forklift driving
