Overview
From supporting mental health to providing frontline care, healthcare careers are about making a difference in people’s lives. This virtual work experience with Coventry & Warwickshire Trust and Black Country ICB gives you the chance to explore two vital roles: Mental Health Nurse and General Practitioner.
Through interactive activities based on real-life case studies, you’ll practise observation, empathy, and communication — the skills that sit at the heart of patient care. Along the way, you’ll gain insight into the responsibilities, challenges, and rewards of working in healthcare, helping you decide if this is the right path for you.
What's Included
You’ll take part in realistic activities designed to mirror the work of NHS professionals. You’ll build confidence in spotting signs of common conditions, practise effective consultation skills, and reflect on the importance of empathy in healthcare. By the end of the programme, you’ll have a clearer understanding of how to pursue a career in health, from university routes to on-the-job training.
