Experience overview
The support services are a key pillar in the healthcare sector, and span to cover a wide range of specialisms, such as administration, clinical support, corporate services, domestic services and estates services. This means it's a great career to pursue if you're someone who has great organisational skills and are committed to making a difference to people's lives.
Applications are open to students from years 10 – 13 who attend a school or college based within the following local authorities: Hammersmith and Fulham, Camden, Hillingdon, Ealing, Westminster, Richmond-upon-Thames, Harrow, Barnet, Hounslow, Kensington and Chelsea, Hampshire, Wokingham, Surrey, Windsor and Maidenhead, Oxfordshire, Bracknell Forest, West Berkshire, Berkshire, Reading or Slough.
What’s included?
You will meet a range of NHS Support Services from the wider healthcare team, who will give you an overview of their experiences within the industry. You will also learn about some of the key roles across the different functions from Administration, Estate Services, Clinical Support Staff, Corporate Services as well as Domestic and Support services. The programme will also include a vital employability skills module to help you think about entering the world of work and a ‘Getting Career Ready with the NHS’ module, which will encourage you to think about your values, and how they align with the NHS.
