Why We Need You

Duties and responsibilities will evolve and widen as you develop within the business; you will be trained in all aspects of accounting, primarily: 

  • All aspects of purchase and sales ledgers including credit control
  • All aspects of bank reconciliations and posting of banking transactions
  • Resolving queries and maintaining up to date and accurate data
  • Preparing and processing monthly journals and management accounts
  • Preparing annual budgets
  • Constantly review the company’s existing procedures and to make improvement recommendations
  • Provide assistance and support for colleagues

At the end of the apprenticeship you will have: 

  • Understanding of the financial parts relating to FCA regulations
  • Awareness of general insurance & underlying principles
  • Robust knowledge of accounting principles

Our dedicated in-house claims team are well-versed in handling claims for our niche industries.  Because we deal with a limited number of industries, we are able to ensure our technical expertise remains focused on the needs of contractors operating in those industries.


  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English, A*-C grade or 4 above or equivalent qualifications
  • A levels - A-C Grade (Accounting - or Maths)
  • Must have a degree in any sector ideally finance related 

Skills Required

  • Ability to prioritise and organise own workload to ensure that deadlines are adhered to
  • Ability to liaise with colleagues where appropriate
  • Ability to construct effective written communications, including both emails and letters
  • Confident and effective telephone skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
