We're looking for the next generation of engineering talent who want practical experience in a fast-paced environment. You'll work alongside our highly maintenance engineers shawdowing them and learning how we operate a smooth running operation.
The McCain Engineering Apprenticeship Scheme is a four year multi skilled programme. You will attend a technical training centre on day release as an apprentice, you will be expected to complete college-based elements in addition to hands-on core modular training.
The scheme will also offer training in modules bespoke to McCain and the potato industry.
On site you'll benefit from working alongside a team of highly skilled maintenance engineers, assisting on an exciting range of engineering challenges in the factory.

In 1957, the McCain brothers founded the company in their hometown of Florenceville, Canada. McCain created the first ever frozen chip and went on to become the worlds largest manufacturer of frozen potato products. Today McCain is still family owned, and has grown to 52 production facilities across six continents, employing over 21,000 employees across the world. Thats a lot of potato experts. McCain in the UK started in Yorkshire and are still there today. There are four McCain factories across the UK, including head office in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. As well as a strong network of farmers, we also own a potato seed business in Montrose, Scotland. McCain is the UKs largest purchaser of British potatoes, buying approximately 15% of the annual potato crop. They work closely with over 250 UK growers to make sure the best potatoes are harvested.
Minimum 5 GCSE's or equivalent at grades 5 and upwards including Maths, English and Science

- Self-discipline in meeting stretching targets and deadlines
- Logical approach to fault finding
