Why We Need YouPosted:
As our managed services proposition evolves, we are looking for a digital communications technician to support our growing hosted SIP telephony platform alongside our managed service offering for desktop and server support.
Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:
- Provide 1st line support to clients – via telephone calls, emails, and support tickets from clients
- Provide onsite support to clients
- Interpret and prioritise internal or external customer's requirements in line with organisation's policy
- Apply appropriate testing methodologies to hardware or software or cabling assets
- Carry out regular checks and processes
- End user system updates
- Identify areas for improvement within support to improve service delivery to clients
- Strive to improve communication both internally and with clients
- Provision VMware based servers from templates provided by the Systems Administrator
- Use basic scripting to execute the relevant tasks for example PowerShell, Linux
- Basic network configuration tasks
- SIP Telephony maintenance and management
- Installation of SIP telephony platform
- Telephony solution design and architecture
- Maintaining checks on our cyber security platform to ensure services are compliant with local policies
- Apply the appropriate security policies to ICT tasks in line with organisational requirements
- Deliver network tasks prioritising security with a view to mitigating and defending against security risks.
- Configuration of users for remote access via VPN and Remote Desktop gateways
- Undertake any other duties as may reasonable be assigned

Requirements
• 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)
- Problem solving – using your initiative to resolve complex issues, not just following a script
- Ability to multitask – prioritising tasks to ensure critical issues are resolved quickly
- Excellent communication skills
- Enthusiastic about joining and integrating into the managed services team
- Ability to take responsibility for your own learning, development & progression
- Attention to detail
- Good time keeping
- Ability to work alone as well as within a team
