Students earn Rockets for actions such as:

Rockets are not a measure of attainment or ability. They exist to encourage participation, consistency, and exploration within careers education.

Are students competing against each other?

Competition is optional and deliberately low-stakes.

No student is disadvantaged by opting out

The system is designed to motivate engagement without creating pressure or long-term comparison.

The leaderboard shows Rocket totals earned within a monthly cycle.

A league system will help group students more fairly over time

The goal is transparency and motivation - not competition for its own sake.

At launch, Rockets are primarily student-facing.

What do teachers need to do to promote Rockets?

Rockets are embedded within the Springpod platform.

Schools are not required to actively promote competitions or leaderboards. Students can engage with Springpod learning regardless of Rocket participation.
Teacher framing and guidance are encouraged, but Rockets do not require classroom management.

Rockets were introduced in response to teacher and adviser feedback to support students who may need additional encouragement to engage with careers education.
