Meet the academic
Lisa Hagger & Debbie King

Lisa Hagger is a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Social Care. Lisa has been a lecturer at Canterbury Christ Church University since 2018, and teaches on the full time BSc Adult Nursing course, and both the Nursing Associate and Degree Nurse Apprenticeship courses. She is module lead for the Evidence for Nursing care module on both apprenticeship courses and is a personal academic tutor on the BSc course. Lisa’s role also includes leading the recruitment process for the BSc Adult Nursing course, overseeing interviewing and recruitment events. Lisa is still a registered nurse with thirty years experience, having worked predominantly in East Kent in various settings including acute medical wards, district nursing teams, care management and primary care. Debbie King is a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Social Care. Debbie has been an Adult Nurse for over 40 years, and trained at the Royal London Hospital where she worked in coronary care and then intensive care. This is where she did her specialist intensive care training and qualifications. After moving to Kent, Debbie worked as a staff nurse in intensive care, working her way up to senior sister. She was a founding member of the critical care outreach team at Maidstone Hospital where she stayed until she moved to the School of Nursing in CCCU. Debbie’s interests remain centred around the clinical sciences and critical and acute care.
