In this exciting experience, Dr Jenny Gregory explains the power of the human body, bones, and how we’re built to move! In episode one, Jenny explores the disciplines of Sport and Exercise Science. She then explains the way our bones grow, adapt and sometimes struggle under pressure. Jenny also discusses how everyday movement, athletic training, and even injuries all link back to the science of our skeleton.

In episode two, Jenny examines how energy availability, hormones, and nutrition shape an athlete’s bone health and overall performance. She explains RED-S, stress fractures, and key warning signs, demonstrating how proper fueling and recovery can prevent long-term health consequences. Jenny also identifies and explores the particular challenges female athletes face.

In episode three, Jenny explores how bones respond to loading by comparing the experiences of astronauts, cyclists, and everyday athletes, demonstrating how the skeleton adapts or weakens depending on the forces it encounters. Jenny also highlights the best exercises for lifelong bone health, explains age-related changes, and outlines practical strategies to prevent osteoporosis through movement, nutrition, and early action.

In the final episode, Jenny recaps what we know about bone health. She shows how real cases require students to combine knowledge from physiology, nutrition, psychology, and biomechanics. Jenny then asks you to complete an activity that applies your understanding of bone health and puts it into a practical case.
