Meet the academic
Paul Roberts

Paul Roberts is the course leader of the IBMS-accredited BSc Biomedical Science course at the University of Chester, and the placement lead for students undergoing work-based training in NHS pathology laboratories. Paul has over 20 years’ experience as an HCPC-registered Senior Biomedical Scientist in NHS laboratories, six years’ teaching experience as a Lecturer/Practitioner in Biomedical Science, and has extensive knowledge in the field of Biomedical Science. Paul has an enthusiastic and progressive approach to teaching and student experience, and is passionate about investigating authentic assessments specific to the pathology laboratory environment. Authentic assessments both reflect and prepare students for life in the working environment in ways that standard assessments may not.
